Hear Ye, Hear Ye...

We decided to do something fun for Labor Day weekend so we headed off to the Renaissance Festival.
Apparently Dan has never been to one (crazy, I know).  He had so much fun it killed him.  (What do you mean that was cheesy?)
One of the coolest things there was the live jousting.
We watched it twice and both times our knight was ahead and then lost because he hit the other man so hard it knocked him off his horse.  It might have had something to do with the fact that he was extremely old.
The queen even came to see the excitement.
Another great highlight was watching the Mudde Show, which was three men literally reenacting Beowulf in a mud pit.
At one point, one of the men jumped into the audience and started a mud fight with a little boy and then stole someone’s glasses.  The real excitement started when Beowulf fought back and threw the monster into the pit, splattering the whole audience with mud.
On top of being fun to watch, the act was hysterical.
We also got to see some amazing sights while we were there.  Dan didn't know that there was a sign there, which kind of reiterates what it says.
One shop was selling some crazy looking weapons.  Dan was even manly enough to pick one up.
Averi enjoyed hanging out in the stroller.
Kaili’s favorite show was about the hatching of a baby dragon.  She wasn’t too fond of him trying to eat her hair though.
We also enjoyed going through a maze, watching a pirate comedy show, strolling through the shops, watching a man play Pachelbel’s Cannon with crystal glasses filled with water, and watching the people in their costumes.  It was a blast and Dan even said he wants to come back again sometime.
