Happy 8th of July!

We celebrated July 4th twice this year, so it’s only appropriate that I’m writing about it on the 8th. On Thursday the 2nd our ward had a party at a member’s house. There was food, music, and good times. We then marched over to a nearby park where we literally sat under the fireworks as they exploded. There was even live music as we waited for the night to come. At one point, Kaili jumped up and started shaking her butt like there was no tomorrow. I have no idea where she gets it from. ;) She even pulled out a few good stripper moves. I was quite impressed. We tried to get a video but it was too dark. The show was fantastic!

The family all decked out in red, white, and blue. Kaili's forced smile is priceless.

Kaili would not put down her ring pop.

Miss Averi looking very confused.

I made a baby wrap for Averi. I'm pretty impressed with myself. Of course, I wish I made it two weeks ago because we quickly learned that Averi LOVES it and falls asleep immediately after being wrapped up in it.

While waiting for the fireworks to start Dan told Kaili stories about Kaili the Mermaid. She loves made-up stories.

Enjoying the fireworks!

On Saturday the 4th we went to our neighbor’s lake house where we enjoyed bratwursts, fishing, swimming, and more fireworks. All the rich lake people started setting off their own professional fireworks at 9, the actual show started at 10 and lasted for over 30 minutes, and the fun was just beginning when we piled in the car to go home. It was an hour away so we didn’t get home until well after midnight, but life’s not fun unless you party hard.
I ain't afraid of no worms!

Fishing off the dock.

Dan caught the first fish. After seeing him hold up his fish, Kaili insisted that she do the same. She was very proud of her catch.

I can't get enough pictures of my two girls together! Kaili is such the awesome big sister!

Watching the fireworks. The view over the lake was amazing!

Happy Fourth of July!

Wow! You amaze me! I just don't know how you do it all, Tiffany. But don't feel bad - I just posted about the 4th today, too - but I don't have an excuse like a newborn to keep me from it! I love that wrap - it's super cute!!
